PuryFam: The Hart of the community

At HSU we are committed to making a positive impact on our community – that might be immediate community at Hartpury College/ Hartpury University, locally in Gloucestershire or even globally.

In order to turn your ideas into action we have split the idea of community into three main threads:

Sustainability:

“It’s not easy being green” as someone wise once said, and we want to make it easier for everyone to get their green on!

We all have a responsibility to become more sustainable: environmentally, socially and economically.  HSU work closely with Hartpury to ensure that sustainability is at the heart of what we do.  We are always looking into how sustainability can be embedded into the running of the campus and the students’ union.  If you have an interest in the environment, conservation and want to have a positive impact on the future please get in touch with us.

Volunteer:

‘Employability’ is the buzz word in education at the moment.  We know that it is the extracurricular things on your personal statements or CVs that make universities and employers pick you out from the other applicants.  Volunteering is a great way to enhance your portfolio, make new friends, learn new skills and give something back.  Hey – we all like the warm fuzzy glow we get from doing something for other people!

We are always on the lookout for volunteer opportunities and will shortly have a link where you can search for your own.  In the meantime just get in touch if you would like to know more

Charity Fundraising:

Charity begins at Hartpury!  Help us put the ‘fun’ in ‘fundraising’ (or the ‘raisin’ if you like).

Our Raise and Give (RaG) have down some great work in the past raising money through fun and engaging events for local and national charities.   If you would like to help us run the group, please email studentsunion@hartpury.ac.uk
